The fully equipped kitchen has an adjacent dining area and access to both an outdoor patio and deck, so your group can sit
and eat in 3 fairly contiguous areas; the dining table,
the lower deck, and outside on the picnic table. A large
gas grill is outside as well. The living area has a fireplace with
comfortable seating to enjoy views of
the lake, sitting and talking about the day's activities, or
watching your favorite DVDs on the TV. A queen sleeper sofa
is in this area. Bring your own boat and enjoy some fabulous scenery and
fishing.
Duck Lake is a 1,930 acre all sports lake and the swimming is
wonderful at the shoreline with few rocks and weeds to hinder your
view or enjoyment. A fire pit is down by the lake so the family can
gather in the evenings. In the mornings, there is
nothing better than sitting outside on the deck of the house
enjoying the sun rise over the lake and hear the loons calling.
Whatever your vacation pleasure, you are sure to find it here. This quiet peninsula is
just 12 minutes from downtown Traverse City, so you are very close
to all outside activities. But you may not want to leave the
peninsula. Surrounded by lake, with tennis courts and park,
you may want just to enjoy the beauty and scenery and a quiet walk
or bike ride around the lake. The area offers 27 fine golf courses
and over 18 wineries, antique shops, small quaint villages to visit
and all kinds of water sports at Grand Traverse Bay.
Take a Tall Ship sunset or cocktail cruise, a noon catamaran trip,
parasail over Grand Traverse Bay, or take a stroll through beautifully
restored and maintained Traverse City with its gaslight district
feel, small boutiques, lively restaurants and pubs. For sports
enthusiasts, Beach Bums baseball is here and for the kids, there
are water parks, miniature golf, bumper cars, and wonderful places
on West Bay to play in the sand all day. Interlochen Center for the
Arts is located only 5 minutes away. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is
only 25 minutes from the house and you can snowmobile a hundred
miles within the Grand Traverse groomed trails and cross country
skiing is available at various places throughout the area. Book far
in advance for summer weeks and holiday rentals. Saturday to
Saturday rentals. This is a no smoking home.
